ABOUT ADRA:

ADRA Yemen is undertaking programs in Yemen in the fields of health, nutrition, WASH, food security, livelihoods, and protection.

SUMMARY:
The Social Worker will support the delivery of safe space programming, psychosocial support, girls’ empowerment activities, and case referrals for vulnerable children and adolescent girls and will lead community awareness, mobilization, and protection prevention initiatives to strengthen protective environments for children and adolescent girls.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The “Social Worker” will be responsible, but not limited to:
Support daily operation of child and adolescent safe spaces.
Facilitate MHPSS sessions, life skills training, girls’ clubs, and peer education activities.
Conduct menstrual hygiene awareness sessions and support dignity kit distribution.
Identify vulnerable cases and support safe documentation and referrals.
Maintain confidential records and contribute to activity reporting.
Ensure safeguarding, PSEA, and child protection standards are strictly upheld.
Coordinate closely with the Outreach Social Worker for follow-up and community reintegration. Conduct community outreach and awareness campaigns on child protection, girls’ education, and GBV prevention.
Facilitate participatory dialogues and social cohesion activities.
Mobilize parents, youth volunteers, and community leaders.
Support strengthening of community-based protection committees.
Identify and refer vulnerable individuals to the Community Center Social Worker.
Promote safe school attendance and retention of girls.
Support documentation and outreach reporting.
Maintain close coordination with the Community Center Social Worker to ensure continuity of care.
Adhere to the organization’s safeguarding framework, including Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), child protection, anti-harassment, and ethical conduct policies, ensuring alignment with international standards (e.g., Core Humanitarian Standard, UN CRC).
Promptly report safeguarding concerns or violations through designated channels, maintain confidentiality, and participate in mandatory safeguarding training to uphold a safe, inclusive environment for all stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Education, Community Development, or related social field.
One year of demonstrated volunteer experience in community or social initiatives.
Strong passion for addressing community challenges affecting children, adolescent girls, and vulnerable families.
Experience working with vulnerable populations is an asset.
Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular).
Good command of English and Arabic, both written and spoken
